PVC-U pipes are mainly made of sanitary grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, with the addition of appropriate stabilizers, lubricants, fillers, color enhancers, etc. They are extruded by plastic extruders and injection molded by injection molding machines. Through cooling, curing, shaping, inspection, packaging and other processes, the production of pipes and fittings is completed.
Compared with traditional pipelines, PVC-U pipes have the advantages of light weight, corrosion resistance, low water flow resistance, energy saving, quick installation, and low cost. They have been widely promoted and applied, and the benefits are significant. Since the 1980s, China has been piloting the use of PVC-U pipes in municipal and construction projects. After more than 10 years of promotion, PVC-U pipes have made significant progress, but per capita consumption is still less than 1/15 of developed countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, and Western Europe.
